Cognitive Behavior therapie (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an umbrella term for therapeutic approaches that teach you how to better cope with your negative thoughts and feelings about yourself and your environment. Through this therapy, you learn to manage your mood more effectively and align your behavior with your desired goals.

Are you afraid of spiders, small or large spaces? Do you fear stepping out onto the street? Do you find yourself compulsively checking if you've turned off the gas or locked the front door? Do you experience panic because you have to give a presentation to your colleagues? Or perhaps you suffer from fear of flying or heights? If these fears are affecting your everyday situations such as going to work or doing groceries to the extent that you prefer to avoid them, then you need help.

How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?

Together, we assess the extent to which your fear is realistic. Subsequently, you create a list of anxiety-inducing situations for you, ranging from least to most challenging. Afterward, you gradually confront these situations step by step in order to learn to overcome your fear.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is proven to be effective.

The effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy has been demonstrated through scientific research. Treatments are focused on addressing specific symptoms or problems and are generally of short duration. The emphasis is mainly on difficulties that are currently affecting you, rather than issues from the past.
